Ben Gray and George Myette arrived San
Francisco Mar 9 from GP and Calgary. Repair electronics, get
things ready, etc.
Depart San Francisco Bay, passed under the
Golden Gate Bridge at 9:55 AM local time March 16. 2005. Nice
to get out to the gentle swells of the big Ocean, swung to port
and head for San Diego and Ensenada Mexico. Back to San Diego
and George fly home. George was a novice, but willing and
capable and now an experienced seaman.
Ben single handed to Dana Point, then
Avalon Bay, Santa Catalina Island, then Marina Del Rey. Brad
came April 11 and we headed north to Monterey Bay, wait for less
wind and out again. Should have waited more. Got to Coos Bay
Oregon April 22 and picked up Jason Fimrite, who has crewed on
Idlewild before. Arrived Vancouver April 27th and prepared boat
for trucking to Dunvegan Alberta on May 11. |
